False Awakening

False awakening is an aberration of sleep, in which the sleeper may experience typical elements of a dream and feel afterwards that they were consciously awake at the time they dreamt.

While dreaming, we can sometimes remember details that seem so real and vivid because we are convinced that we are actually fully awake in the dream. The core essence of it being a dream might be there but the details of the environment or people are vividly new and believable. This is called a false awakening and it can have harmful effects on overall mental health.

Sometimes, it can cause dreamers to believe that apparitions and ghost are real from a dream where they experienced a false awakening.
