In compensatory dreams, there are good dreams which show us events from our waking lives from the other side of the coin; seeing things that we might like but don’t get to see during our busy day and bad dreams about events in our past or current life.
Generally dreams are the brain’s compensation for things about the suffering in our waking lives, sometimes just to balance and demonstrate the two sides of a situation where life offers us little solace.
Anything from frustration at work to trauma caused by an addiction will emerge in our dreams in one form or another without fail. A well-balanced dream that feels clear cut also represents hope and the need for separation between emotions can be solved through a compensatory dream – so we do the same thing we do during the day and more of it but without the waking life interferences.
For example, what you observe in a difficult situation as a car accident may lead you to a compensatory dream about context leading the specific point in time, and understanding where two parties involved are coming from, to help you see all sides of the coin before you conclude who or what to believe in the situation at hand. Was the car malfunctioning, was the driver reckless, or was the driver avoiding a pedestrian on the road?
